PAUL MEUNIER
PGA LIFE MEMBER
One early winter morning when Paul was in 8 th grade, he was traveling to hockey practice when his
father asked him if he had thought about what he wanted to do when he grew up. Paul responded “dad,
I want to be a golf professional”. In 1989 Paul started a golf class at the college he was attending. One
year later he was teaching, playing and mentoring in the Rockefeller resort town of Woodstock,
Vermont. Residents like Michael J. Fox, Charles Bronson and future major champion and the next
Ryder Cup Captain young Keegan Bradley were part of Paul’s normal daily life.
After a few experiences like teaching under the tutelage of the #1 rated instructor in the world in
Scottsdale, AZ, and at the same time, running two golf businesses, Paul realized he was also
interested in budgeting, expenses such as food costs, and learning best cultural practices within the
golf industry. This would be his next adventure. Paul moved to Naples, Florida and quickly climbed the
ladder in the area. Paul hung up his clubs, put on a suitcoat and joined many community Board of
Directors around the area, while being a general manager of a private club in downtown Naples.
On top of the responsibilities that Paul already had, he was also asked to take on a new venture in his
home state of Vermont. With Paul’s experience he was able to take on such a significant job of
managing a failing golf course. He did this by rebuilding the conditions of the course, finding loopholes
with land deeds and ownership rights as well as constructed a plan to sell the golf course to an investor.
In the town of Randolph, VT, the golf course was the only main form of recreation. Paul knew how
important recreation like this is to such a small town known for not having a traffic light and where
everyone knew each other by name and address.
During this time, Paul and his wife Cathy still lived in Naples and would travel up from there or down
from Vermont to visit Paul’s parents in The Villages. They both knew instantly where their last move
would eventually be. After a few years, Paul and Cathy did in fact move to the Villages and have loved
every minute of it. If you do not see Paul here at the Oxford Golf Academy teaching or assisting in the
golf shop for Chad and Nikki, you will see him and Cathy playing multiple rounds of golf daily in The
Villages.
Paul passed his players ability test on his first try, was in the top 3% of his class in PGA school #1 and
has achieved chapter awards such as: Merchandiser of the year, Junior Golf Leader of the year and
Teacher of the year. Paul also has experience in real estate investment, vehicle appraisals and buying
for a large Toyota dealership. Paul enjoys cooking, nightly entertainment at the The Villages squares
and having both funny and entertaining conversations with his two granddaughters.
Paul is well diverse and ready to assist you here at The Oxford Golf Academy!!
